Every living thing on earth needs the natural fuel the sun produces. The sun has been considered by many the life force of our planet. Without the energy of the sun, plants cannot perform photosynthesis and they die. Humans also need sun exposure to provide vitamins that are vital to a healthy human system.
Over the past several decades, scientists have been looking for more ways to use the bountiful energy the sun provides to the earth every day. These properties make silicone the ideal material of choice for use in solar energy technology. The only downside is the cost of the materials. The process required to grow crystals large enough for use in solar panels is very expensive. So scientists have started testing other materials in an attempt to lower the cost of this exciting new eco-friendly energy source.
